Best Cheap Wines For Summer

Share with your friends!

The weather is heating up friends. Or if you live in the south like me, it’s BEEN hot…. for awhile! Personally, I think wine is the perfect drink for all types of weather. However, there are certainly some that just scream summer time. This week I am sharing 5 of the best cheap wines for summer. Whether you’re hitting the beach, grilling out with family, or just social distancing in your kiddie pool, you need to add these to your shopping list.

If you’ve read one of my most popular blogs from last year, the 5 best cheap wines, you’ll know I am sucker for cheap wine. I like to think I am a cheap wine connoisseur. Meaning, I can’t tell you much about wine, except which one is worth your $10. Sure, some fancy wines are amazing but you can totally find cheap wines that are just as tasty. I am always on a mission to share my cheap wine finds with friends so without further ado…

Fruity Reds, Whites, and Rośes… Oh My!

Best Cheap Wines Perfect For Summer:

1. Keel & Curley:

This list is in no particular order…. except Keel & Curley. They definitely deserve the number 1 spot! They are delicious all year long. But their light and fruity flavors are the perfect wine to sip on this summer. My favorites are the strawberry, wild berry, and blueberry flavors. They just released limited time summer flavors, watermelon and tangerine, too. I can’t attest to those flavors yet, but they look amazing.

Keel & Curley is perfect to bring to cookouts and as a host gift because everyone will enjoy it. Even non wine drinkers! If you’re local to the central Florida area, you can go visit the winery and enjoy a quaint restaurant, wine tastings, and brewery tours. Keel & Curley is available for purchase at quite a few Publix’s in Florida but can also be ordered online through their website. AND, they were kind enough to give me a discount code to offer you guys! Use code “REDSENTME” for 15% off at checkout.

2. Lakeridge

Lakeridge is another winery local to Florida. It is one of the best cheap wines for summer because it’s another brand that even non wine drinkers will enjoy. I’ve only tried their Southern Red and Southern White but they’re both perfect for summer! Personally, the red is my favorite. It’s super light and fruity. Definitely not what you’d imagine from a red wine. The Southern White has a more white grape flavor so if that’s your jam, the white may be for you.

3. Dark Horse Rośe

best cheap wines for summer

It’s worth mentioning that I’ve enjoyed Dark Horse’s Pinot Grigio and Cabernet too! But as far as the best cheap wines for summer, the Rośe is where it’s at. As perfectly described on their website, “Dark Horse winemaker, Beth Liston, decided to take summer by the grapes and create a fruit-forward, Provence-style Rosé that pairs perfectly with sunshine and backyard budgets.” Seriously, what’s not to love? Rośe all day girl!

4. Ava Grace

I stumbled upon Ava Grace like I do many other wine finds… I liked the label. And in this case, I was drawn to it because it’s both of nieces names. Isn’t that how everyone picks wine?

I can only attest to their red blend but wow. It’s the perfect balance of a “normal” red wine flavor while still being crisp and slightly fruity. Perfect for red wine drinkers who want something a little lighter than a Cabernet. Upon further research on their website, I learned they also have canned Rośe and Pinot Grigio. Something about canned wine just screams summer time!

5. Gionelli

Where my Pinot Grigio lovers at? Gionelli Pinot Grigio is an Italian wine that makes the list for its budget friendly nature. It’s your basic dry Pinot Grigio, delicious and classic. At my local Publix, you can buy the large bottle (1.5L) for $8.99. If you don’t have a Publix near you, I’d recommend looking for it at a wine store like total wine or even liquor stores. It appears it’s not the easiest to find online as they do not have a website.

Bonus Cheap Wines For Summer:

Flip Flop & California Roots

And in case you still haven’t read “The 5 Best Cheap Wines”, I’ve included two from that blog post that are perfect for summer and very budget friendly! At my local Publix, Flip Flop wine is always 2 bottles for $11. And California Roots, Target’s very own brand of wine, is $5 per bottle.

The name, the branding, the taste, Flip Flop wines were made for summer. And while I’m a sucker for Pinot Grigio, California Roots also offers a Rośe, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sangria that would all be perfect for summertime sipping!
