Personal development is uncomfortable and amazing. Some days you feel like you’re absolutely thriving and making huge steps towards personal and professional growth. Other days it is exhausting and overwhelming. If you find yourself on a personal development journey, you know that learning never stops. On the days when you’re struggling, it’s nice to have some inspiration to refer back to. That’s why I put together a list of 10 of the best personal development quotes to keep you fired up.

1.

Sam Laura Brown is a mindset coach and blogger. She is the first blog I found that convinced me I could actually do this whole blogging thing

It can be so easy to get wrapped up in “the goal” that you forget about all of the growth you achieve on the way. When first starting my fitness journey, all I wanted was to see physical progress. But the other amazing reasons to work out and everything I am still learning along the way has been far more beneficial to my personal development.

2.

I love this one because it’s a friendly reminder that it’s hard for everyone. You are not the only one struggling right now. If personal development was easy, everyone would do it. We would be totally screwed if some of us didn’t take plunge into discomfort to grow.

You can always find some good inspo on Boss Babe Inc.

Look how far you’ve come from when you first started, in whatever goal you’re working towards. This is so important for me. Blogging was the scariest dream I’ve ever had. Even just the thought of sharing my blogs with the world made me sweat with nerves. But now I post every single Sunday with excitement in bringing value to those who are along for the ride.

4.

If you’ve been on this blogging journey with me, you had to know Queen Rach would make the list! She has a way with words that just rocks my world (and millions of other women!) Ive referenced this specific quote before in my “5 Perspectives That Changed My Life” blog. It’s unbelievable how quick we are to break promises to ourselves. But what if we didn’t? How much would we have achieved by now?

5.

This one is so important to me I wrote a whole blog post about how to get motivated. Spoiler: It’s discipline! Motivation is fleeting. You can’t count on it. The most successful people in the world are also the most disciplined. This is such a good one because it’s applicable to so many aspects of personal development.

6.

Rachel Hollis quotes

I should have this taped to my dang forehead. I often get wrapped up in the “how” of things rather than the “why” which can quickly lead to overwhelm and self doubt. If you’ve read any Rachel Hollis, you’ll know she preaches about forgetting the “how.” You’ll figure it out along the way as long as you can clearly and vividly envision the dream. Why not you? Focus on the possibility of the dream rather than the probability.

7.

This goes hand in hand with discipline. Whether it’s fitness/health goals or professional goals, consistency is what causes traction and leads to progress. Success comes from hustling for your goals consistently. A reminder I think we all need when we want to give up.

8.

Listen I didn’t try to make them heavily Rachel Hollis but here we are… *shrugs.* Piggy backing on this one for a second, on Rachel’s podcast (The Rise Podcast) she has an episode about other people’s opinions. The gist is, do you actually know that girl has an opinion about you? Or is it just a hypothetical opinion you think she has about you? Either way, it’s none of your business. When you start worrying about what other people think, let this be your mantra.

9.

Can you imagine that kind of reassurance? I believe people who have achieved great success have believed in themselves and their dreams so deeply, it’s as if they knew without a doubt they would make it happen. It has not been my natural instinct to dream big and dream confidently but I am working on it. Dream it as if it has already happened.

personal development quote

Would it even be a personal development post without Tony Robbins? I told y’all before, I fear failure. I have to remind myself that I can’t spend time focusing on failure. Failure is inevitable. Where your focus goes, your energy flows right? It’s okay to have fear and discomfort but that can’t be your main focus. When I finally succeeded in getting “fit,” it happened because I decided it didn’t matter if I fell off the wagon, I was going to get back up and keep going. And that’s when I actually made progress.

These quotes are as much a reminder for you as they are for me!

These are some of my personal favorites that remind me to keep going. It’s so important to have these reminders to look back on, on the days you’re struggling. Some of these are also saved on my Instagram highlights so if you want to repost them on IG, you can find some of them there! Come hang out with me on Instagram at TheRelatableRed.
