My 25th Birthday Bucket List

Share with your friends!

This week I wanted to share a fun, lighthearted blog post because it’s my birthday week! I didn’t think I was going to write a birthday blog this year, but then I had the idea to finally write down all the of the bucket list items I’ve had swirling in my brain. Before you keep reading, know this is a lifetime bucket list inspired by a milestone birthday that happens to also be my golden year birthday. This is not a bucket list that I am attempting to achieve in this next year of life.

I never really had the desire to have a bucket list just because I think it sounds kind of morbid and also because many peoples’ bucket list items are really extreme and somewhat unattainable. And while some of mine are more wild than others, some are just simple things I have always wanted to do or learn.

I decided it was time to actually compile the list, so without further ado, here’s my bucket list right now at just a few days shy of 25 years old.

My Bucket List:

1. Watch the entire Sex & The City series and movies.

Ive never watched any of them and it’s one of those things that people quote a lot. I’ve always wanted to watch them but I want to start from the very beginning and go in order.

2. Treehouse in the woods or mountains

You know those “bubbles” in the woods where you can see all the trees around you? One of those! I’ve seen them in the form of treehouses with big windows and other similar set ups and I think it would be really cool! I am interested in the outdoors, from the comfort and safety of my air conditioned room.

3. Learn to make a really good guacamole

I love a really fresh, chunky, spicy guac and I want to have my own go-to recipe. This one is as simple as trying some recipes but it’s never something I have prioritized.

4. Learn to make a really good spicy margarita

To go with my guac, obviously! I just think it would be a cool thing to know how to whip up on occasion. One that’s just a touch spicy without being overpowering.

5. Cage diving with sharks

I mentioned this one in my 10 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Me blog! I have a healthy fear of sharks but also a weird interest too. If the opportunity was presented, I very well may wimp out but I really think it is something I would like to do once. And ideally, with Great Whites. Unlikely I know, but I can dream.

6. Tortuga Music Festival

In case you’ve never heard of it, Tortuga is a 3 day country music festival that is held at the beach in Florida. I have always wanted to go but have never planned well enough to have the funds in time for tickets.

7. See a Cowboys game in Dallas

I would love to see any Cowboys game, but especially one in Dallas! Texas is on my bucket list of places to travel and as a Cowboys fan, it just makes sense. My husband is a huge Cowboys fan and I would just love to see him get to experience it too.

8. Go to Nashville

This isn’t all that wild and I know tons have people have been! I just picture Nashville to be like the country version of New Orleans and New Orleans is one of my favorite places. They’re known for country music and lots of eating and drinking and those are some of my favorite things. Bonus points if I could see one of my favorite country artists perform too.

9. Multi stop winery tour with my best friends

We had considered this for my bachelorette party and ended up going the cruise route instead but I feel confident this will happen in my lifetime. There is no one I’d rather drink wine with than my girl friends and I imagine taking a limo or party bus sort of set up to a few different wineries would just be one of our most perfect days.

10. Rent a beach house

If we are dreaming of things, I’d love for it to work out that someday me and all my best friends and their husbands and kids get together and rent a huge beach house for a long weekend together. St George Island, Florida has a special place in my heart and tends to be a pretty secluded beach but I wouldn’t mind going somewhere new like Destin or a beach on the east coast of Florida.

11. Try a lobster roll

I’ve always wanted to try a Connecticut lobster roll, which comes hot with butter as opposed to a Maine lobster roll that’s tossed in mayo. But I have yet to find one in Florida!

12. Learn about wine

I am not sure I want to be a full on sommelier, but I’d like to know more than “this is delicious for $10” kinda thing. I would love to know a thing or two and it feels like a really interesting hobby to get into.

13. Go skiing/snowboarding with my family

Specifically, my dad. We always talked about going on a winter trip to go skiing or snowboarding some day and we’ve yet to take it. We took a big family vacation to upstate New York a few years ago and I just feel like this particular trip would be so fun to do with my whole family.

14. Go to a Rachel Hollis event

Currently she does Rise women’s conferences but who knows what she will do moving forward! I’d love to go see her in person with a couple of my girlfriends at some point because her personal development books have made such an impact on me and also I fangirl over her a little bit.

15. Watch Gilmore Girls

I know, I know. How could I have not watched it in my 25 years? Well it’s because instead I’ve rewatched Friends a million times. Anyway, I think I would really like it and I know it’s a fan favorite.

That’s a wrap on my bucket list!

At 25 years old, 15 bucket list items come to mind. I’ll be interested to see what gets accomplished and what no longer makes the list as time passes.

Now it’s your turn! Comment below one of your bucket list items, whether its something you want to learn, a place you want to travel or something quirky you’ve always wanted to do. Call it a virtual birthday present to me, okay?

Thanks for indulging me and reading along friends! This was fun.
